Art evokes emotion. The artist creates it with an intent, but the beauty I feel, lies in the fact that the art speaks to each one in its own way, creating a personal, unique bond. The thought struck me when I came across this beautiful painting that headlines this post, a creation by my friend, an amazing woman full of talent and grace.
The last couple of years have been a real roller coaster ride.., so many things had come to pass, and so much more was yet to come. Something about this painting spoke to me, something wild, bold, beautiful and free! It urged me to let go of the pain caused by the struggles and frustrations of and move forward with hope, embracing the innocence and carefree joy, the freedom that release gives to go on and do wonderful things with our lives. Though it was not going to be an easy path, it filled me for those few moments with a sense of purpose, one that I had been struggling to find.
At times, it takes something very simple to make us understand something profound. For all that has been, is, and will be – ‘An Ode to the All‘ 🙂
Days that have gone by, a story in pieces
The flow of routine, the ripples of change
Crispness in the air or heat on the back
Soft white sheets or a torrential dance
In all a hurry, a run, a dash
Or a waltz, a spring or a lazy drag
Moments of joy, waves of slumber
Drops of grief, tons of silly
Flashes of rage, plethora of smiles
Stretches of space, sometimes nothing nice
More to see, more to do
More to give, more to care
Life altering, mouth watering
Heartwarming or hair splitting
Some of the best, some for the worse
A crazy mix always, similar yet new
Familiar to the unexpected,
Lone drums or a full blown orchestra
To all end and begin again,
Wiser, in peace, love and hope
A new journey and unknown paths
Well, shall survive, oh yes indeed
Play the games our way, fall and rise
Laugh and live, learn and fight
To the new year, hope you’re ready
Hold on tight, it’s time to fly.
I think it should be ode to all too.
Good stuff Jo, pretty abstract but i like it.

Hey thanks! 🙂 So the reason i went with ‘the’ all is to personify it and give it character, the essence of which gets a bit lost if it’s ode to all.
